- Flat screwdriver
- #10 Torx bit w/ driver
Step 1
Locate the 2 screws at the base of the gauge pod, just above the steering column. You may have to pry down the plastic cover in order to see the screws. Remove them with the #10 torx bit.
Step 2
Once you have the 2 screws out, it is time to pull. Yup, all that is holding the pod in now is a couple clips. Grab ahold of the ends of the pod and pull as hard as you can. Depending on whether the pod has been removed before, it can be stuck in there real good, so don't give up now! It is a little hard to get a good grip, but just keep pulling and eventually it will pop free!
Step 3
After you finally get it to pop loose, you need to disconnect the electrical connectors behind the 2 switches at either end of the pod. Use the flat screwdriver to pry back the tab towards the inside of the pod, to release the electrical connectors from the switches.
Step 4
Once you get the 2 electrical connectors unplugged, you can easily remove the pod from the dash. Now remove the 2 torx screws from the top of the instrument cluster.
Step 5
Step 6
That's it, your cluster is out, and you can now do whatever you wish with it! Just put everything back together in the reverse order when you are done.
