They already have, it's called an RPM activated switch, which is built into some shift lights.

Nothing good is free.

Besides if you look hard enough you can find plans to make an RPM activated switch.

Well I actually have a MSD Shift light in my other car with the little plug in's for selecting rpm.. they wouldn't happen to be rpm activated switches by any chance ?

It would be possible to build a small circuit to tie this in directly to the tach lead but then it deffenetly wouldn't be a $10 shift light.

stock setting for "RPM above which shift light is always on" is 5600 RPM

Of course there are settings for the minimum RPM VS assumed gear but those really only come into play for regular driving.

Low dome batwing luxeons !! LOL old school!!! 30lumens maybe! haha Maybe more, those look like newer ones that have the phosphor applied EOS like the high domes do. What you need is a cree MCE in there now What do you have those luxeons laying around for? Area lighting that never was installed?

they go behind the reels in a slot machine.. they light up the symbols when you hit a good combination.

i bench tested them, 1A @ 3.3V. They turn angry blue at 1.5A

no MCE's, unless i decide to put one in my U2
