Any Updates?

No not yet, I've been in the books for a while but anticipate a trip home within the next month or two and intend to take it to a dyno to get some idea of what the power output is like. I also plan on building an HO replacement early next year with upgraded parts from the 60 deg forum. I was considering having the crank offset ground by .100" increase and using small block chevy rods but at the moment I'm not sure I'll do it. I already have custom .927" bushings for the stock rods to accept my forged LS1 pistons and will probably take that route along with converting to the conventional cam system eliminating VVT unless performance at the Dyno suggests otherwise.

Going to H-beam Sbc rods would run an additional $700 in parts and fitment work and I can't justify that on an engine that should be capable of over 400 hp with the piston upgrade at a minimum. As it stands I'm looking at $200 for balancing and about $80 for bushing install and pin fitting, plus the piston notching tool for installing the valve reliefs. The pistons are lighter than stock by about 50 grams and the compression will be about .5 higher so that's a plus.
