Hey guys first time having to post a problem just broke the gate selector cable bought a new one and now the cable wont reach the selector linkage feels extremley stiff and will only move a little bit. so i rigged it up and now it will only go through the 1 to 4 gears and can't even get 5th or reverse. do i have an internal problem with the tranny maybe sync gears ??????please help me out i'm so frustrated.

First make sure the cable isn't twisted or kinked. Some come coiled up in a small roll and can damage the cable that way.

Also, Make sure it is mounted to the tranny correctly. The nut should be on the top.

have someone move the shifter side to side in the car and watch the gate on the trans. I bet it's not moving all the way into the 5/R spot.


If that's the case, check to make sure it's mounted correctly
