Ok so I am sure alot of you know, I am still trying to get my newly found 3400Z on the road, and I am so close I can smell the burning rubber but anyways I have to have reverse lights and well with everything being done when the motor swap happened apparently they stopped working, so here is a picture of the connector I beleive to be the one for the reverse light because the only other connector on the tranny I had to wire up for the VSS

So my question is where the hell do these wires go, are these the wires and where would I hook them up if I were to just cut them and run new wires from the connector, thank you guys in advance, and please any info will help this is one of the last things I have to do

the wire is right where the washer fluid tank would be in the early Cavs

I have been checking the wires with my multi meter and I have it down to not having a power source at the socket for the bulbs where do they get there power from when the car go's into reverse

It could be a ground issue. Make sure you have good grounds....I'm looking in my Haynes Manual right now to see if I can identify those wires...

From your fuse block it should be a DK Blue that goes to your backup light switch. From that it is a LT Green wire. That is all it's showing in my book for the wiring deal. I would say check that out and make sure your getting power to it. Just a stupid deal, I'm sure you've done checked it but did you check your fuse to make sure it's not blown. And I'm sure you've checked the bulbs to, to make sure they are not blown. But you said your not getting power to it so even if they was blown your tester should still light up.

I passed my ASE Certification on the electrician part on Collision & Repair but it's not my strong point. But usually when something like this happens its usually a ground issue. Make sure that on the ground that it is metal and no paint because the paint will make it not have a good enough ground. Been there alot in my field. I think in my book the way it was showing was that Autos had the wire for the reverse deal was going to the Park/Neutral Position Switch but on Manuals, it was going like I told you.

lol yeah I have had alot of problems like that now the thing I don't get though is these were from the connector that hooks into the transmission so wouldn't it be in the tranny something is wrong maybe the switch?

I finally found it in the book for your manual reverse light deal. This is what it says:

Check
1.When the shift lever is placed in the Reverse position, the backup light switch closes the circuit for the back up lights and the lights are activated. On the 4-speeds, the switch is located to the left of the switch lever base; to get at the swtich on these vehicles, remove the shift lever knob, the boot and the console. On the 5-speeds, the switch is located on the front left corner of the transaxle itself.
2.To check the switch, start the engine, turn on the lights and verify that the back-up lights come on when you put the shift lever in Reverse.
3.If the backup lights don't come on, check the fuse for the backup light circuit (it shares the fuse with the turn-signal light circuit.)
4.If the fuse is bad, replace it and recheck the circuit. If the fuse is okay, use a test light to verify that there's voltage available at the backup light switch.
5.If the backup light switch is getting voltage, use the test light to verify that the switch passes voltage when the shift lever is placed in Reverse.
6.If the switch doesn't pass voltage when the shift lever is placed in Reverse, replace the switch. If the switch passes voltage, inspect the backup light bulb filaments, the wire harness and all connectors in the backup light circuit. Replace or repair as necessary.
