So, about a year ago, I started collecting all the pieces to swap to GT flip lights. The original plan was to just attach the GT grille piece to the top of the Diza bumper, but until I actually put the two on the car together at the same time (which wasn't until a few months ago), I didn't realize just how crappy the Diza piece is. It was about an inch low across the middle. So, I had to do something else. If anyone remembers-

Thats how it looked with the GT grille, but it was an inch low. So, I attached the GT corners to the Diza piece with SEM Problem Plastic adhesive, which worked great. I drilled a ton of holes in both to allow the stuff to actually get some tooth. That was a few weeks ago.

Tim gave me some insight, and I broswed around on the fiberglass forums. It seems as though most people just 'glass urethane to other glass, but I was worried about strength, since the corner pieces need to hold weight, thats why I used the SEM stuff. Yesterday, I attached some pieces of mat to the underside of the urethane with the SEM stuff, again with a bunch of holes, then folded it back, and used expanding foam to fill the void between the urethane and the top of the fiberglass. Today I got rolling with the 'glass. I pulled the mat back down over the foam, and attached it to the little "ditch" I made on the leading edge. I didn't get any pics of that part, but heres some after the first lay.

And one showing the back of the "joining". I threw some mat in the stuff to give it even more strength. I can pick the entire thing up using the corners now.

The center is still undecided. I'm going to extend the hood to fill between the lights, but I really haven't decided how to finish the bumper. I think it'll just be a simple rounded transition to the top of the urethane. I also have to settle on the blinker/fog lights I have. Either Subaru XT6 or Chrysler New Yorker (the only two I've ever seen that have a fog and turn signal in one housing). I have both, I just haven't given it enough thought.

I know, I'm sad too

Did a bit more today. I think my tube of resin hardener was bad, because the pass side has been drying for 2 days, and its still tacky. I have to do some serious adjustments there because of it. Re-attach the new glass to the existing glass, and fill a bunch of holes where I had to cut chunks out. I'm not happy with that side.

The drivers side is much better, and just about done. Just need to block a couple spots close to the corner piece, and skim it out again.

This project is actually going better than I thought it would. I won't be able to work on it again until after the Bash Sad But, then I get to put it on the car and mark out the fender flares

wait, you are going to mold the center piece of the grill to the hood?

I really don't like that idea. Breaking up that front piece is going to make it look very wierd I think, and also make the hood have a buck tooth look to it.

I say you mold that into the bumper as well, and make it all one piece to get rid of seams....

No, I'm not using the Bird center piece at all. I'm just going to have a flat filler between the light covers attached to the hood. Picture a phase 2 Cav grille cut to match the light covers and molded to the hood. The opening between the light covers and the bumper will be a straight opening all the way across the car, except for where it dips in the center. I'm not that great with PS, so I can't draw it for you.

ah, I get what your saying. Hard to picture, but comes out alot better than what I was originally thinking lol.

what will be behind the opening in the center? just a grill?

Haven't decided yet. I may just leave it completely open, since there won't be anything between it and the radiator, the hood latch is gone. Or I may use some nice stainless square hole mesh I've had lying around for like 6 years now.
