So as I was sanding, I ran into someone elses bodywork. Loved it too, seeing that I'm in the field I see alot of stuff. Found newspaper behind bondo where someone has tried to fix the rust once before, as you can see it came back. But that's what happens when you do things the wrong way. Started picking all the bad metal out and hopefully I can get it fixed soon enough. As soon as I fix it, I'm going to keep on picture whoring as Tim would say. _________________

Yeah, I am going to the jyard monday, if I recall I looked for some good ones last time but I really can't remember if they were good or not. My welder is screwed up and by the time I was to do all the metal working it would be forever for those lips to be perfect. So I used the pickhammer to get it to the good metal. What I'm thinking about doing is grinding all the bad metal out and making a fiberglass mold from the front ones and put them on the rear. I would much rather have Fiberglass ones than Metal anyways. _________________

Damn, didnt know that car had that much rust, its crazy how thing looks so much cleaner on pics or until you take close up pics Good thing you work in auto body I'm sure you're gonna fix it right. You shouldn't use fiberglass or a front fender tho, the rear quarter have that little line/lip thing at the bottom, you need to keep it!!!! Why don't you just go to the junk yard and cut a quarter from another car ? That would be your best bet I guess _________________

Yeah, that's what I'm going to do first and cut them out of another one. That is if I can find any. And on the pictures they wasn't there. That was just small surface rust that showed up and when I started sanding down the area it got worse so I pulled out the infamous rust slayer (pickhammer) and went to town on it to take out all the bad metal. Someone has tried to fix it once before on both sides because there was filler about an inch thick and then newspaper behind that....
Don't know yet about the fender flare setup but I might have to go that route. I mean the metal will definately be taken care of so that it will not have a chance to come back. _________________
