very nice #'s!
so what are you going to tell wiseco as far as hp handling capapbilities of the new pistons? it seems like at least 4 of the people getting the pistions will also be running boost as well so.....
also do you have any threads about the Alc inj set-up that your running. i've come across some before but never got too deep into researching it.
again, good work man! |

Thanks for the comments everyone. How was the vid working out? I tried viewing it here at work, and it plays fine until the last few seconds, then skips out right where it all the action is. Anyone else having that trouble? I want it to work right because I want to link to it on my website.

Yes, I'll try to post it up this evening. I had to take it to work to scan it.

Yes, never opened up with over 195,000miles on it.

I'm going to tell Wiseco the pistons better be good for at least 400 crankshaft HP all week long and twice on tuesdays. With a 15% drivetrain loss, the flywheel HP on my car would be about 385. But I don't know if 15% loss is correct for the drivetrain or not.
See this link for info on the alky systems:
http://members.cox.net/stevemonroe/AlcoholInjMod.html
I read a ton of info on these systems, and everyone had good results. I beleive Corky Bell is the only person I know who doesn't care for the device (he is pretty opinionated about it ). Once I knew enough about how everything worked, I kind of devised my own system using ideas from all over. They are really very easy to build. I have pics of my install on my website. Feel free to ask if you have any specific questions. _________________

And people say these engine can't make power.
If this isn't proof that a simple 3400 swap with a turbo makes MORE power than a more difficult swap of a 3800 SC, I don't know what is.
I've been saying this for a VERY long time now. _________________

I used to be one of those non believers I use to love the 3800sc... But I have purchased a 3400 for my Rita.. so maybe the 660 gods will spare me _________________

Kenton; I was a skeptic before seeing your results with the H2O/alky injection, but now I may devise a system for it for the truck, I was planning on using a Nitrous system which I may still do, anyway.
But I'm really leaning towards the H2O/Alky system, since I could *cough* use it on the street *cough*.
I'll be contacting you in the near future about ideas, and such.
I've also thought about Propane injection, but I think I'll stick to something less volitile. _________________

Propane on a Gas engine is used just like thw H2O/Alky injection is.
Where as Propane on a diesel is more liken to N2O used on a gas engine. _________________

Hey Kenton, have you tried using windsheild washer fluid? Apparently, there's at least a few mixes out there that have the same properties as H2O/Alky mix.
For those of us in the North, this will help on the cooler nights. _________________
