There was a video I saw a while back of back to back dyno runs and they used a 2 stroke leaf blower and stuck it in the intake and it actually made more power. But that wasnt electric and I still wouldnt even think about putting one on a car ever. Go turbo. _________________

I was waiting for the nos to ignite and blow that fucker into the roof if you look at the light under the hood on the sonoma the nos is going all around it, surprised they never blew that roof sky high _________________

by my understanding NOS is simply an oxidizer and doesn't burn on its own (goes to reason, it is just oxygen and nitrogen to help dampen the oxygen, it also has a trace amount of sulfer to help keep people from huffing it, med grade is lacking the sulfer )
Therefore, you would have to have an open fire to get any kind of explosion. A controlled, enclosed burn, such as inside an engine and you shouldn't have any kind of explosion. I am sure there are some exceptions to the rule, ie: an extremely rich running engine, or even oil blowby and you could end up with a hell of a fire.
I would have loved to have seen what his O2 sensor was reading when they shot it with NOS. Damn that thing had to go way way lean! |

How NOS works
When you heat nitrous oxide to about 570 degrees F (~300 C), it splits into oxygen and nitrogen. So the injection of nitrous oxide into an engine means that more oxygen is available during combustion. Because you have more oxygen, you can also inject more fuel, allowing the same engine to produce more power. When it vaporizes, nitrous oxide provides a significant cooling effect on the intake air. When you reduce the intake air temperature, you increase the air's density, and this provides even more oxygen inside the cylinder.

we did something like that a few years ago, on my 89 silverado. we first installed a second altenator, on its own circuit to a battery. had a 2" squirrel cage blower fan. used a lower airbox off a daytona shelby z, was a perfect fit to the outlet of the fan, and has a nice curve to it, right into a 3" outlet, i had an FIPK system on the truck, with a 3" inlet. ran a short piece of pipe, and couplers, voila, mounted a switch in the dash.
baseline dyno of 235hp
with the squirrel cage fan dooohicky, 244hp
it was wicked. lol and not worth the little power.
so we ripped it off, and i resumed in putting my edelbrock TBI setup on it, 246hp on the dyno _________________

now if you only hooked the S cage up to that you may have seen 250 _________________
