I'm in the process of putting new bolts in for my front sway bar because there aren't any there . But my problem is that when I went to put in the bolt, it's like 3/4" too short to be able to be put on. So my question is: Am I supposed to bend the sway bar down to the bolt, or do I have to unbolt the bar clamps, move it so the bolt does work, and then reclamp the bar?

when you say new bolts, you mean endlinks?

if so you could bent the swaybar down or jack the control arm up

Yeah, I did mean endlinks. And will jacking up the control arm really make them get closer to the sway bar?

Yeah, it sounds a lot easier. The car is up on ramps right now, but i'll take it down tomorrow and try jacking it up.

undo both links while car is sitting on ground and tighten them up the same way torque end links to 15 lbs

I brought the car down, and I jacked up on the back part of the control arm, and that made the sway bar go further away . So I don't know if I jacked on the wrong part, or if the sway bar isn't where it's supposed to be, but the endlinks still aren't in.

I finally got it all done, I needed 2 jacks (one for the body and one for the control arm) and a clamp (to bring the sway bar closer to the control arm) to get the links to reach between the sway bar and control arms.

I tightened them to factory specs, and I asked 2 shops and they said that's exactly what you're supposed to do and it's what they would've done if I had taken it to them. Plus, if they snap i've already done it once, so I know how to do it again, and I just know not to tighten them so much.
