and just out of curiosity would it be possible to use that turbo and manifold and injectors and not swap the ignitions?
i mean could you just get away with the turbo and manifold or does it require the use of the distributor and stuff?

If you dont want to tune and want to run like 5 psi of boot and less then yes you can just slap on the turbo and manifold and you will be fine, but if you want to go more and do things then you neeed to do what Slow said.

well honestly
for the sake of my ambition
i'd like to only run like 6psi max for a bit just to see how my engine/car handles it
from there, if i want/need to, i'd get the rest of the parts for the bigger boost
with only the turbo and manifold, would all the plumbing for the turbo hook up to my stuff?
and would an intercooler be unnecessary for this ?

If you get the manifold and all that other stuff off a GT or buy it all individually then everthing will hook up no problem. I think you might have to change your sway bar too IIRC....Slow will know for sure. And with that little amount of boot you dont need a intercooler no but it is recommended. and do a hybrid swap with the 2.0 when you get the ambition lol

would this be a better route?
since it has manifold already with it and is cheaper
the guy said its got 108xxx
any thoughts?
or does the prices scare you like me?

thats decent for the manifold and turbo. I didnt check what shipping lol but buying stuff off the internet is always buy beware, I like to physically see it, but if you have confidence in buying a used part like that over the net then id say its a pretty good deal. Then all you have to do is gather up all the other parts. OH and thats not as scarry as your tranny price

the hybrid swap youre talkin about is the daewoo dohc head right?
cause i've researched into that alil too
but that seems complicated as hell
and i've been lookin at intercooler kits off ebay and they have some decent stuff on there
any recomendations for intercooler size?
and would i need the bigger injectors if i just went turbo/manifold?

i'm in kalamazoo

'll have to message the seller
but would this be a decent power adder?
i mean i dont wanna get this turbo/manifold and intercooler....
get it all to fit properly
then barely have any power difference

on that note that Turbo is like a C20 IIRC, and with 3-5 psi you will see a little increase in power......

alright
i mean eventually it'd be nice to go bigger boost
but i just wanna see how my car handles the induction
not that its alot
but i mean i dont wanna melt my internals
so thanks for the help
i am goin to buy one of these turbos this weekend since i just got paid
i have all the tools and devices i'll need
my plan is to buy the parts i need (besides the turbo and/or mani)
then when i'm home for holiday breaks, i'd like to:

1.Pull the engine and tranny
2.Replace Radiator
3.Paint engine bay
4.Replace bottom end gaskets/needed internals
5.Clean and paint engine
6.5 speed swap
7.Put engine back in and install intercooler and piping
8.Install turbo

I know its alot but i will hopefully have ALL the parts before december and while i'm home i will have 5 full weeks of nothing but watchin the snow fall and workin on my car.

and i'm glad some people still have faith in the 4 cylinders!
haha

that t-25 that you are looking at there i have the same one sitting useless here (had to rebuild it and the compressure wheel was broken) so i decided to go with a t3/to4e. the t-25 ran out of breath in the higher rpm band on my 2.2, so basically you might want to rebuild the center canister if i were you to be on the safe side.oh f.y.i. that t-25 is maxed out at 10 psi, so if you evevr wanted to go bigger boost you might want to look in to a t-28 (ya know the discopotato) the make great power.
