well the canister has been re done and thats about as far as i got with it the compresasure wheel is verry hard to find so i was gonna convert it to the t-28 but that would cost the same as my t3/t4 would cost new so i went that route, i'm running 6psi on larger injectors and an fmu, i do'nt have any issues but then again i do have the 94' 2.2 (ln2) not the 2.0. pics of wich turbo my t-25?

ya i've heard that boost is addicting
my friend had a civic that started at 6 psi boost (it was SOHC Vtec 5 spd cast internals) but ended at 12 psi with no more engine
haha
as for the injectors i'm not real sure either
i'll have to see what slowj says
and i really would like my engine not to explode
oh ya
how many miles were on your engine when you turbo'd it?
and did you do anything internally?

170,000 miles or so and about 210,000 when i had to replace the motor. due to a pice of the sparkplug breaking off then thrashing the #4 piston. the honda motor giveing up the ghost sounds more like it was a tuning issue, (the b16's can take about 500hp or so before poping on a spot on tune or so i've read) and it's usally the pistons not being able to handle the pressures

Im guessing you boosted a stock engine and didnt tune it or anything, cause if your 2.2 is running outta steam at 4000rpm you have a problem.

Too small of a turbo maybe?

Jowek70,

Here's a link to my thread when I swapped the DOHC 2.0 into my sunbird. It really wasn't all that difficult.

http://www.v6z24.com/jbodyforum/sunbird-hybrid-dohc-almost-tuning-t86410.html

And, if you have any questions feel free to ask. Eventually, maybe sometime near the end of this year, I'll be starting a turbo build with that motor. If you can do it and find everything you need, the DOHC is well worth it, you will boost the efficiency of the engine by a good amount and create more potential for increased power output. Right now the DOHC motor does run using the stock sunbird ECM. It doesn't run how I would like it to, but that will all change hopefully soon. These swaps are something different than the norm and I encourage them. Someday I will probably own a turbo 660* Z or something similar, but for now this project has my interest and has taught me A LOT in the last year or so. When starting that thread I posted above, I didn't know nearly as much as I do now.

no not really, that turbo is kinda small for that applacation. that t-25 does also come on the turbo grand prix's and for that motor its extreamly small. the responce on the little t-25 is great but they tend to run out of breath in the upper rpm band'and they are only good till 9psi.

yup that t-25 was too small. it was my learning turbo build.

since then i've learned a few things and used them on this build. i chose the t3/t4 for the fact that i will not have to upgrade at all, it's pretty much the largest one you can put on imo. besides the new turbo flows twice as much air as the t25 at any given psi.

Yes things are well with the engine. Just need to find the time and money, mostly money, to get everything I need for a turbo build.

well honestly
this will be a learning build for me too
and i'm very interested in the DOHC swap
i followed very closely thru your thread when it started awhile ago
but i would like to get the turbo goin first
then work from there i guess
but back on track.....
i am thinking of buying the turbo that is from florida as opposed to the one from michigan
pros and cons:
florida turbo- more complete looking, states mileage, more than one picture, looks cleaner and shows the actual turbo.....but, its in florida, so its gonna be a bit risky
michigan turbo- very close, i could inspect in person, the seller actually answered his messages, includes manifold, but, there seems to visually be somethings missing from the aparatus and the mileage is unstated (though given in pm thru ebay) on the sale page, also the turbo looks alil more used

overall: i think though its a risk, the florida turbo seems to be in visually better condition and more complete. the auction ends on monday, so hopefully i wll have some sound advice from you guys by then, but if not i will be making a trip to paw paw monday morning.

in comparison, other things aside
what is your guy's take on either of these?
as stated before, i have had no luck finding a GT in any of my local jy's
thanks
