Thanks for the welcome everyone.

The ads are only for guests. You will not see those ads. So once you are logged in they will disappear.

The ads you will see once logged in is the autoguide.com banner at the very top. and one at the very bottom.

The one at the top of the forum disappears once logged in.

Thanks,
Dwayn

so, i have to log in twice, then? or is that fixed where when i log into my registry i also log into the forums, because I HAVE been having to log into the forums separately, and the ads show up when logged into forums but not into your registry.

Oh, and btw, my Blackberry told me 3 times i thad to close the page because it was "too large to display." Not digging this at all.

I'm logged in and still seeing the ads in the forum...well, not seeing them but I see the area where they would go.

The forums yes, but not your registry at the top right corner...

It's just a shame that the site went from someone that actually cared about these cars, and made a website to help the community to someone that just wanna makes money out of this (ads everywhere) and couldn't care less about the rest.

That was my take on it, sort of a let down really, I've been on here since 2002. I'm logged in currently and still see those annoying things.

But that brings me back to MY original point. I'll put it in bold for those who missed it...

I HAVE TO LOG IN TWICE TO MAKE THE ADS GO AWAY

And even then, why is there an ad at the bottom of the page for a local VW DEALER ON A J-BODY forum?!?!?!

Moon, I see why you did what you did, I know it must have been a lot of hard work, but dude, this is out of hand now...

Just talked to our tech department. It was set to not display when you log into the registry but not when you log into the forums only.

It is being worked on now. Sorry about that everyone.

Thanks,
Dwayn

It's ads by google. I personally see salesgenie.com and ally.com Then again, I've been salesgenie a few times to check out their products and I bank with ally and on that site a bit.

sometimes I see apmex.com too. been there also.

I'd almost guess that you've been to the VW dealers site in recent history. Which makes me wonder, why are you go going to a VW dealers site when you drive a GM car?

haha, well its probably just going off your location then and very little autoforums can do to change it.

We have to remember moon was putting his personal money to keep the site running and was taking the lost for use so the new owners are atleast trying to get there money back. As long as the site keeps running we have to let them put the ads and maybe there are companys we don't even know of that have cavalier parts and now will find them with there ads

Exactly. Some ads are ok, but the important thing is the site is still up and running
