I'm curious to what is involved in getting to the Intake gaskets. I know you have to pull the plenum and the vaccum gaskets but from there I'm pretty lost. Took her to the shop and both the vaccum and intake gaskets are bad and the price was nothing less of . I've pulled the plenum before so that's pretty easy, I'm just a bit lost on where to proceed next to get into the intake gaskets.

Basic socket set can get the job done I assume?

Yea basic socket set. theres not to much more to do just unhook everything going to the lower and undo the bolts and pop it off.

If you can pull the plenum you can do the lower to.

Ya it is very simple. If you are going all the way to the Lower Intake Gasket, just remember where you pulled everything and put it back like you took it off. ie. Push Rods

Just be neat and organized and you will get it done very easily. 10mm on the plenum and I think 13mm on the intake. Don't hold me to that tho!
Make sure you use plenty of lubricant to ease anything that look like it's gonna give you trouble!

Almost all parts stores carry the Lower Intake and up kits, exactly what you need. Just remember where you took everything off and put it back like you found it and you will save yourself $300.00.
Look around on website, sure you can find a 'How-to' on entire gasket rebuild.

Just take your time. And if you doubt your skills, invest in a Hayes Manual..will cost ya $25.00, but will take you step by step on how to do it correctly. And if you ask nicely...you might be able to find someone that can scan and email you the couple of pages you need and save yourself 25.00, but the book is always good to have around.

Good luck and take your time can't stress that enough!

Both the upper and lower intake bolts are 10mm. To get the lower off you have to remove the power steering pump, which is help on by 3 bolts behind the pulley, which are also 10mm. Just for reference there are 8 bolts holding the lower intake, it may come off hard after that because they use black rtv to seal the ends to the block. If you need any more info just PM me, I did this like 4 times in the last 2-3 weeks, so I should be able to give you a good step-by-step.
