Pretty much anything goes in this forum, but there are still a few rules you should abide by.

  • Please do not abuse this forum by just posting crap to increase your post count. Doing so will get your topic locked and possibly deleted (the posts will be subtracted from your post count). Posting to simply increase your post count may result in a temporary ban. Post count is not as big of a deal as you think it is

  • Please do not start a new topic announcing that you have obtained a new post "rank".

  • If you have a question for the mighty admin, do not post it here, as I do not always read all of the messages in this forum.

  • Use the Chatroom when appropriate, as not to clog this forum with even more useless information.

Additions/Changes to the above rules may be made as deemed necesary

1. No slandering. People are entitled to their opinions, so, even if it doesn't mesh with yours, its ok. Treat one another with a level of respect. Avoid personal attacks. If you don't agree with what someone posted, debate their post... not the person that posted it. Flame wars are not welcome here. If you are here to flame people then you should leave now. Also, the mods are in their position for a reason. They were chosen because they will do the best job running this forum. If you have an issue that was created by a mod, take it to PM's. There's no reason to bash them in the public forum. Same goes for everyone else reading this forum. Take it to PM's.

2. Pornography will not be allowed in any way, shape, or form. We do not tolerate this and you will only be warned once. No links. Get over it. That will result in a warning or a ban. Any post that is considered offensive is not only subject to being deleted, but also a warning. So, don't complain when either of these, or both happen to you!!!

3. This is not a dating site. Anything that belongs on cupid.com does NOT go in non-auto. A topic that gets severely off track & turns into a sexual conversation, etc. will be locked. If you feel the need to flirt, express how wonderful you are at certain activities, or simply make sexually based comments, you can just utilize the PM or IM buttons. Nobody else wants to read it, so why force us to?

4. We have the same "rules" as an equal opportunity employer: we do NOT discriminate based on gender, race, religion, sexual orientation or age. Depending on the nature of the comment, this could result in an immediate ban.

5. Controversial topics make for great debates. But, please maintain a level of maturity.

6. Postwhoring will be locked/deleted/warned. Now you know.

7. We do NOT need constant updates of the weather/sports scores/ etc. There are websites we can visit if we want to know. Those may get locked/deleted/warned if needed.

8. Just because this is non-auto, its not an excuse to go nuts. This is a car website. The only reason this is here, is because a long time ago some people went nuts, posting jokes all the time. So, we created a section to have a place to post the jokes, etc. If non-auto continues to be abused, we can get rid of it. Or, we can always make it accessible by a select group only. There are messageboards available if you'd like to post random nothings. We are not one of them.

9. "In before the lock" & other phrases that can be followed by "duh" are not needed. They will be deleted/warned & possibly even edited to say things that you maybe didn't want to tell the rest of the board. Posting "in before the lock" gets you warned in every section of this message board, not just non-auto. Also, if you don't have a comment on a topic, just don't bother. Don't make a post saying "no comment" or "I don't know" or something else equally brainless. It's subject to being deleted.

10. Also, as a reminder: Don't comment on double posts. The duplicate gets deleted & so does your comment. It just makes more work for us, so, we'd appreciate it not happening to begin with.

12. If you don't like the way non-auto is run, you are more than welcome to not visit it. You are here to read/learn/post about cars. Go do that. This forum is WAY to huge... You guys all claim to be here due to your fondness of j-bodies, but your post counts within non-auto say otherwise. Some of you don't even have j's! (Yes, its true for me, but i never made that claim! And if i leave the site, so does non-auto!)

11. There are certain words that will not be tolerated. Words that are demeaning to a race or a gender, or that are in general deemed offensive will be edited & possibly earn a warning. If your post is edited, feel free to contact any of the non-auto mods & we will explain why.

Any questions or comments? Feel free to pm me (or any of the other mods) & I'll explain further my reasoning. No need to blast the mods in public. We are people with feelings. And in our defense, the people that are mods were chosen to be so, because they aren't post whores.... they are people who post when necessary & know when to keep their mouths shut. So, keep that in mind, that no, we cannot be here all the time. We do have lives outside the site. And if you have a problem with that, perhaps you need to spend some time away from the site as well!!
