i have a magnaflow on my 91z. it has a good tone and it's not too loud. and it doesn't drone inside the car which is wonderful, i had a flo-pro on there before that and it was way too loud and droned horribly inside the vehicle. but the magnaflow is nice

Those of you with Maganflows please post the dimensions of your muffler. I had a 14" (I think, i'll confirm later) Magnaflow 2.5" on my auto winter beater and it droned like mad at 2000rpm. It's now on my 5 speed and it's still pretty loud. Do you guys also have resonators?? My exhaust is 2.5" mandrel bent with a cat.

I have a Dynomax Super Turbo on my 90z. Not straight through but still flows pretty good and is a little louder than stock. Also, there is a little drone at highway speeds. But my z is also an auto without overdrive so that explains alot.

i ran the Borla Turbo muffler on my 2.8/auto with 2 1/2" exhaust no cat or res. from the down pipe back. sounded great, a lil bit of drone when cruising, but when the lil cheap bolt on tip fell off and the exhaust was hitting the rear bumper, it was HORRIBLE drone at 2000-2300rpm, cruising speed in an auto. after a couple of week i got a Silverline camaro style tip welded on, fit the factor exhaust cutout on the rear perfect, looked great.

Wagonstein has a Magnaflow muffler on it. 2 1/2" inlet and dual outlet with turn downs on the outlet so you can't see the muffler or the turn downs from the back. You can hear it in the video that I posted (4th gear 87 octane low boost). But of course, sine the turbo is on there is makes the exhaust a bit quieter.

I LOVE the Dynomax Super Turbo mufflers!!! I've got one in the garage right now that will eventually go on Wagonstein since it's quieter than the Magnaflow.

i have a magnaflow and it sounds great. no resonator, but my high-flow cat gives the car a really shitty rasp when you let off the gas. I think I'm going to put a resonator in.

I had 2.5" mandrel all the way including down pipe on my old 3400 5speed Z with 2.5 in/out magnaflow high flow cat and a s/s tuned performance 2.5" in dual 3" upswept out. Deep and throaty from 900- 1800ish, then a slight drone from 1900-2100 and from there it was all nice deep throaty rumble only quite loud! (set off a few car alarms with it) Down shifting hard or letting off from high rpm in low gears resulted in a grunty spurt of rumbeling back fire and then a raspy almost sucking sound but from behind.

Personally i prefer chambered mufflers like Aerochambers, Flowmasters etc... Magnaflows are ok but i always thought they sounded weak under load.

i have a magnaflow 14" 2.25" piping. im using a magnaflow round muffler as a resinator. i ran the muffler with and without the resinator sounds better with resinator. the muffler that i'm using as a resinator is the same one that they send you when you buy a kit from them. you can't buy a kit from them for a phase 1 or 2. if you want tonite i can explain why it sounds better with resinator have to go to work now.
