An 88-90 SunBIRD column would work, but a SunFIRE column is a 3rd gen and I'm pretty sure it's not anywhere near similar.

I don't have a Ph2 to compare to my 89 to see if the columns are similar enough...my recollection is that they're pretty different.

From what I gathered searching around, the shaft or something is different, because a phase 1 ignition switch can't be used on a phase 2 column, and vice versa. That, and the wiper controls are on the phase 2, but not on phase 1 or Bird columns. I guess its possible to swap the entire coulmn between phases, and deal with the wiper control on a phase 1, or have to add it to a phase 2.
