General Rules
- Please avoid asking questions that have been answered millions of times before. You may not be happy with the reply you receive if you do this. Please use the
search feature first, then post your question if you have still not found an answer. If you are looking for mods to do to your car, please check out the how-to section first. You can also check out the V6Z24.com FAQ for many of the frequently asked questions.
- Please be sure to post your question in the appropriate forum. The titles should be pretty self explanatory. Also, do not
post the same question in multiple forums.
- Off topic stuff belongs in the "Non-Automotive" forum only. Please do not abuse this forum by just posting crap to increase your post count. Doing so will get your topic locked and possibly deleted (the posts will be subtracted from your post count). Posts containing only smilies, or excessive use of smilies may be deleted as well. Remember, you will gain respect on the site by the quality of your posts, not the quantity. On a similar note, please do not start a new topic announcing that you have obtained a new post "rank".
- Use the spell check! It is the button on the left when you are posting a message. If we cannot understand what you are saying, we cannot help you.
- Do not POST IN ALL CAPS. This is extremely annoying and it makes it appear as if you are yelling.
- Spam is NOT allowed. You will first receive a warning with further spamming resulting in a ban.
- If you are using an image in your signature, please be sure it is a reasonable size. Images should be no larger than 25k, with a width less than 500 pixels and a height less than 200 pixels. Large signatures drastically slow down the page loads, especially for modem users. Please be considerate. Annoying animations are also discouraged. If your signature is found to be inappropriate, you will be asked to change it.
- Be considerate to the other members of the board. Try to provide helpful answers in all your posting, and descriptive when posting problems.
- Do Not cross post. That is, don't post the same topic in multiple forums, hoping to get more attention. Post it in the most appropriate place, and it will get plenty of attention
- If you accidentally make a double or triple post due to a glitch in the system, don't make another post comenting about it. Likewise, if you see a double post made, don't make a post comenting about it. If a moderator sees the double post, they will delete the duplicate. If there are additional comments about the double post, then that is just more messages for the moderator to delete.
Common Problems
- If you are having problems logging in, or staying logged in, it is probably one of 2 things.
1) You are using AOL. Use the regular version of Internet Explorer rather than the AOL version, and you should be fine
2) There is a problem with your cookies. Delete your cookies and try logging in again
- If you are having trouble posting, please read the Messageboard FAQ, and the BB Code FAQ

A new feature has been added to the board that will hopefully restore some order around here. A 3 strikes banning system is now in effect. If you make post is made which is extremely derogatory in nature, or completely inappropriate, you may receive a warning about that post via email. If you receive 3 warning, you will automatically be banned, most likely for one week.
Regular users can also use the new blue icon to instantly notify moderators if they notice a questionable post.
Hopefully this system will make people think a little more before posting, and it won't need to be used all that much. _________________

Since reading the FAQ to figure out how to post images is a bit too hard for some people, I will try to spell it out here. This applies to posting an image in a post, as well as adding one to your signature.
I will explain how to do this using the BB code tags, but if you know HTML, you can use that as well.
1) To post an image from your registry, you must first upload one by logging in to the registry and clicking "Upload Pictures" from the menu.
2) Then browse to your registry, and click on the thumbnail that you wish to post a picture of, to load the large image.
3) When that page loads, right click on the image and select "properties".
4) Highlight the "path" of the image using the mouse, then right click and select "copy". You cannot just use the page that your image is on, it has to be the actual path of the image itself, so you must do this.
5) Now go back to the messageboard to type your message. When you want to insert your image, type the opening image tag into your message - [img]
6) Then right click and "paste" after the image tag you just typed. This will paste in the address of your image that you copied in step 4 into your message.
7) Now type the closing image tag - [/img]
So, here is what your tag should look like, using a picture from my registry as an example:
[img]http://www.v6z24.com/pictures/users/moonwell/front01.jpg[/img]
You can also just paste in the path to your image, highlight it, then click the "img" button that is located above the box you type your message in.
If you don't want to browse to your image and find its properties, you can use the following format to figure out the path of your image.
http://www.v6z24.com/pictures/users/yourusername/yourpicture.jpg
To add the image in your signature, just edit your Profile and insert the code into the signature field. Please keep in mind the image size restrictions posted in the first message above.
The same thing applies to posting images off of another website. Keep in mind that some sites, such as geocities, angelfire, tripod, yahoo, and j-body.org do not allow posting of their images on other pages. The image may show up fine on your browser, because it is still in the cache, but other people will get a red X. You also cannot link to images that are on your computer, unless you are running a web server (IE, an image url starting with "C:\folder" won't work. _________________

Some new additions and the affirmation of some unwritten rules
- Don't post about car of the month votes! Whether it be begging for votes, commenting on votes, whatever. We don't want to hear it.
- If you come across a post you think is going to get locked, please don't post "In before the lock", or something else stupid like that. Those posts are really annoying, and may just get deleted. You are better off to just not post at all.
- Don't postwhore! Such as, starting and posting in threads where each post is a one word reply (word games, etc). That is what the chatroom is for, so please use that instead.
