If I understand this right, you're attempting to "stretch" the form of the original kit so that the gaps between wheel and car and between car and ground are reduced. I always thought the stock Z kit was beautiful, but it also occurred to me that it would probably look even better if it was just a little "taller", meaning the empty space in the front bumper would be slightly bigger (vertically) and the rear bumper going a bit more towards the ground.
Of course, you would also have to rethink the side skirts so that they would be correctly aligned with the bumpers, creating a nice, flowing line to the car that would, hypothetically, make it look more aggressive.
So I'm pretty glad you're looking into this, I'm interested by the results.
A few questions though:
If you're going to bag it, won't the new bumpers touch the wheel in a disastrous way? Or are you going to build something that arches over the wheel on the outside?
Are you going to modify the skirts?
Are you going to work on the kit or create a new one entirely?
In any case, post as much pics as possible.

Dasalottaquestions............

Tim, I know you just say you make cabinets and stuff but in my knowledge I consider you a bodyman!!! You could take the courses and pass them with flying colors. Your a fiberglassaholic, and it takes alot of patience, knowledge, and skill to do what your doing. From one bodyman to another, (and I mean that) I truly enjoy watching someone elses work. And in the process seeing shortcuts, and learning a bunch of new stuff. So goodluck, and keep on post whoring!!!!!

Thank you sir.....

I love it how your taking the time to post pics!!! Your the man, and it amazes me how quickly your doing it!!! I love it how you are shaving the trim in the back of the original bumper, and I love the middle of it. So since your about ready to start the molding process, I take it your not going to put in any vents or anything in that sort?
