well I got a question, I have a 93 Z which just has a standard interior rear view but I'm wondering what you have to do to get one of those mirrors with the compass in it installed?

All it is is a powered digital compass... I believe the tech is inside the mirror...

Find a car that has one, and check what wires are which. Then hook everything up where it should go.. 12v, gnd, etc....

Older grand ams have a nice compass on the center console, I wondering if that is a stand alone unit. I guess the only way to find out is get a book with a car that comes with compass and look up the wiring diag... When I find out I post it.

i've been thinking about this too. i went from a regular mirror to a light vetr one, then one out of a cutlass vert with switched for the lights. now i want a compass and thermometer. but IIRC Brad said something about needing it to hook into the VSS for the thermometer......

Yeah, I have the digi thermometer and compass in my overhead console.... but it isnt hooked up just yet.

I will see if I can find the wiring diagram that I am using for the overhead console digital cluster thingy.

EDIT: Found it!
