no issues with the KYB's I've had them on the car for over 6 years now.
I did blow out one of the struts... but that was because i hit a massive pothole. Any shock would have blown out in that situation.
I can't speak for monroes, i've never used them other than the strut mounts which are holding up fine.
I've been in a Koni z24, and the ride isn't very good. _________________

I ran KYBs with Eibachs for several years, and never had any issues. You can't compare 3rd gens to 2nd gens. They have lowering springs that will lower the car almost 2", we don't. Thats where their problems are, not with the dampers. A 1" shorter spring will not cause a damper to blow out. _________________

Its still not as extreme as 3rd gen options. _________________

What springs/ other suspension add-ons did he have?
My car is now complete in the suspension. Koni's, Eibachs, Addco front and rear swaybars and full Energy Suspension and it drives great ... and the handling |

eibach, koni yellow's, poly bushings and addco front/rear bars. The shocks seemed pretty sketchy. my eibach/kyb car rides/handles better. _________________
