Update... Hey guys, so I just ordered the material and the poly, I took a while because of finacial probs. But I ordered enough for 7 sets, 1 for me to keep. More can be made later, I just got started on the gigs. The elastomer is shore 80A. So you guys should see some pics by the end of the week.

Here is a pic of my set of them (for 92+ L bodies)

That's black shore 80a. I designed it to also accept energy suspension flange bushings. I only got 7 mounts filled with the 2 part poly so the rest get the flange bushings.

Post pics as you go!

They are going to reduce the amount your engine move around in the engine bay, which means less power is wasted and more go to the wheels. On a stock engine I doubt there will be a huge difference but anything helps.

Id be interested in the 80's I guess. I'm not too knowledgeable about the different numbers but from what I read on page one 80 would be good for the hybrid swap I got coming up.

80 is pretty good. It's stiffer than rubber and yet gives some still for reduced vibrations. 90 is gonna be really hard and not move much at all. Think close to solid. 60 would probably be good for a DD that doesn't want any vibration but some firmness over stock. Stock isn't solid rubber either so that allows more movement.

The ones in the 92+ L bodies have a ton of space for movement. All that movement is the engine rotating and you not moving. Once the engine finally stops rotating then the wheels can rotate. LOL I noticed a big difference in my car. It just moves off the line instantly like it's geared lower and cruising you press the pedal a little and you feel the car move forward. It actually helped my cruise control pull up hills better since it's more responsive and reacts faster.

Sounds to me like 60A 's are too close to stock.

I'll hop on the bandwagon and say 80A FTW and I'm in.

I filled brand new stock mounts with windsheild urathane, it worked for a year... now the mounts are wrecked, lol. # wont realy compare to filled mounts. Stock mounts are made of roughly Shore 60A (tire compound stiffness) but they have big gaps, so the mounts flex, and give a "confort ride" (altough the engine is sloping back and fourth breaking everything thats conected to it. I figured that the stock mounts just cant cope with a 3400. Pictures by the end of the week...

Any clue on the stress this puts on the body of the car, let alone vibrations? My exaust was solid mounted last year and it drove me nuts.....The car shakes enough already. Id rather have some give in it to knock down vibrations and enough give so im not tearing up the body, not to mention now that the engine has no give that means the trans doesnt either. Altough 100% is going to the tires, it means theres an even worse chance of hooking up. I know you guys want 100% power to the ground, but i know that in first gear your not even going to be able to put 50%^ of that down unless you have slicks.....

Anyways, im very interested. I'll take a set whenever they are done.

In the words of Adam West: "So it's a shouting match you want eh? Well game on Quahog...(shouts) I'm beating you...."

Also just for clarification will the sets that you are making now be shore 60A or 80A?
