stock 3400's with an intake and exhaust are putting down the same numbers as a stock DOHC would.. and with a simple valve spring upgrade they'll handle the high RPM's just as well. they're also lighter and fit MUCH better in the engine bay.


the DOHC has almost no aftermarket support as well. Also have fun dissassembling the engine cradle just to change your alternator..




Chris scrapped that car, the DOHC never ran or was mounted propperly to my knowledge. I don't think the other guys ever ran either.


ok i think ill just bore and hone out the 3.1 and go from there thanks everyone for the advice

WOW! After reading thru this thread, i've made up my mind (not an easy task for me 'just letting it out to the world'), I'm NOT going to go with the 3.4 DOHC as intended, I'm gonna go with the 3400 instead....or bigger, Just not the 3.4 DOHC
