What are the best brake pads out there for our cars?
I'm pretty much of a hard driver, wore out my last set of pads within 3 years (Raybestos PGPlus)
I'm looking into EBC reds.
Also have to change the rotors. Will probably go with regular rotors, as all I have read say that cross-drilled/slotted rotors will mainly benefit racing conditions. _________________

3 years isn't too bad, if you drive the average amount then that's like 35k miles......
I just got the ceramic pads from autozone and whatever rotors. They're starting to show some wear, and squeak slightly at low speeds but they still stop great. I have zero issues. although, my driving habits have formed hairline cracks in both the rotors and pads I'm rough on brakes _________________

3 years is pretty good. If anything, the EBCs will wear faster and chew through rotors. I don't think they'd be a good choice for daily use. _________________

Didn't have much of a choice, brake pads were now gone, and it was rubbing metal against metal!
Only thing open around here on sundays : Canadian Tire!
Good thing they always have a special on Monroe brake rotors and pads.
Cost 106$ for all the parts, and about 45 minutes to change the whole set! _________________

| I've been quite happy with my hawk pads as well. They are decently priced too. |

I have always used Wagner Thermoquiets, and never had any issues. Plus they seem to last a long time. _________________

hmm I have the EBC "green stuff" with power stop rotors on my GP GT for daily and they seem to do well. although for the first like 500 miles or so they dusted up like no other. but now seems to be ok.. If I had to do it over again I don't think I would pay the extra price for them and just stick with something like ac delco or something along those lines. Before I had my current "Bear brakes" on my cavalier I had the carbon metalic pads that lasted a bit more than 35,000 miles and still seemed to be good so i dont know. _________________

i've put 15K miles on my GASE with EBC red stuff and stock rotors. great pad, but dusty. just put a set of Wagner edge pads on my wifes GASE and rotors. they work great and they're not even seated into the rotor yet. only cost $55 and includes the pad to caliper clips. _________________

shoot alot of vehicles i have owned, i do good to make it a year on a set of pads on the front....
but then like 20 of my 50 mile 1 way commute is in stop and go traffic, sometimes it's more stop than go & it's the same way in the evening...
so like 40 miles of my 100 mile round trip is in heavy traffic, all stop & go here in dallas.
so wear pads out....
wanted to go to drilled rotors, but don't think they will bennifit me as much since i do nothing but drive to & from work... no racing at all.

You have to make sure......especially on these vehicals, that the sliders are free, and not binding. The outside pad is half the inside pad, and will wear out in 20,000kms if the sliders are even siezed slightly
