i have a few questions though:
how's the wastegate look in picture 42?
for picture 41 i set it up like a schematic......where do i need gaskets for this set up?
does this intercooler look ok to use? i've never seen any up close in person but the fins are all pretty straight and i cleaned the piss outta the inside of it today

just tapp the side of the houseing verry lightly with as hammer they tend to get stuck after some time, if you need a waste gate can or the gasket from the manifold to the turbo let me know i have both of those just collecting dust.

Plastic tank i/c supposedly good to somewhere around 16 psi. Some leak sooner and some hold more pressure. Shouldn't be a problem at 6-7 psi.

GM doesn't use gaskets between manifold and head, turbo and manifold, or turbo and downpipe. The thermostat housing requires a triangular gasket to seal to the head. If you look around you might be able to find the ones that have metal rings around the attaching bolts to prevent crushing the gasket.

I think it was mentioned earlier to get some steel tubing and a tubing bender. That's a good idea for most of the lines but a couple of the bends on the oil supply line are *extremely* hard to duplicate with a bender. The ones right at the turbo are so tight, even my good bender can't copy them. I actually ended up splicing part of the factory line into new tubing when I installed the 'bird turbo on my OHV engine. If you don't have that section of line I'd recommend trying to see if it's still available from GM.

The compressor inlet is on the opposite side of the car as your N/A filter and ducting. The turbo cars use a canister style filter similar to the Z24 cars but the lid has a small air duct attached which draws air over the radiator support. You may be able to modify a Z24 can to work and install it in the same spot. I'd try drawing fresh air from below the RH fender, in front of the tire. What I would not do is use a K&N or other open element air filter right on the compressor. The amount of water (and slush if you're in an area with snow) which gets blown through the radiator is amazing. It will do damage to your turbo in short order.

You're planning to install an intercooler, which is ok, but it would really help if you could route the air from the compressor so it does not go behind the radiator and over the exhaust manifold on the way to the throttle body. There's a huge amount of heat there which helps with mileage and emissions but kills power. Even without the i/c you could get better quality air by not routing the outlet pipe like the factory turbo cars.

i only plan on goin 5 or 6 psi
and the oil lines will be a big deal i think....there are some oil line kits online that i've been looking at but i dunno we'll see farther down the road about that
the coolant lines are gonna be pretty easy to hook up i think.....
the IC piping is still up in the air too.....
i think i'm gonna mount the IC in front of rad....then have the piping go and the driver's side of the radiator to the throttle body like my CAI is set up (might even us the same piping)
i'm not sure about the piping to the turbo though...i'll have to see what i can do about that.....
what about the 2 sensors with this hookup....one on the rad hook up and one on the exhaust (the part that bolts to the downpipe) can i use my factory ones?

Sensor on the radiator? That's a low coolant sensor. No worries if it's not there. The other is an oxygen sensor. Use the one from your car.

You'll also want to read about installing a check valve in the MAP sensor line so you don't apply pressure to it if you're not going to use the turbo Bird ecm.

i thought it was 02 sensor but i wasnt sure
and the low coolant sensor we'll see about i guess
but what kinda check valve is this?
like something universal? and is it easy to install?

Yes you'll want to get the sunbird turbo manifold. It has a few places, as I recall, for sensors that the N/A doesn't. You could drill and tap them on an N/A I suppose... You can also put a bigger throttlebody on those manifolds by boring out the hole where the throttlebody is bolted on.

does that mean i have the sensors already or will i need to get them too?
and will there be an advantage to having them?

If you are running the sunbird turbo ECM (easiest method to get this thing going) you are going to need them. I forget what type of sensors they are, I'm sure Slowolej knows.
