Its another, so i got in my car this morning and tried to start my car. pretty much it would just start up and die, so me being pessimistic i though the worse, like the fuel pump (recently ran it out of gas like a moron) But upon further inspection, i realized that my ignition was funky, so i messed with it and realized that it wasnt locking in place when the power is turned on. i can get it to run, but its a pain in the ass!

So pretty much it wont lock, and its hard to get it to turn to the on position, and when i take out the key and open my door, it beeps as though my keys are in the ignition. Its not a pressing problem, but its still something i want to get done, so if anyone has a suggestion, or had a current problem with this, i would love to know how to fix it!!![/quote]

I don't have that current situation but my column is all screwed up. The tilt is broke so everything just more less hangs there. It is still driveable but one of these days, I'm going to go around a curve and it snap on me. But that's the downfalls of not being able to find a column and I'm sorry but I'm not going to spend $600-800 for a new one. Seeing that my column is broke when I turn the key for it to crank sometimes it hesitates because the tilt is broke. But sometimes it'll fire right up. But my problem is the column and seeing that yours is ok it sounds like to me that you need to swap out your ignition and it should settle yours.

However I did take my car to the local shop to see if they could fix it. The mechanic said that it can be done but it is pricey and there is so much little stuff involved it's more less a big puzzle when working with one so he said that it would be best if I can find a new column instead.

well my flasher switch broke too, so i allready have to take off the cover and work down there anyways, im just thankful that the ignition key only goes to the ignition, so if i find a z at a junk yard with a key in it, it should work... i think...

But ya dude that sucks, i would be pissed!!! It seems like just certain parts of the z's just werent manufactured or thought out real welll!!!!! But i cant believe that they want 600 for a column!!!!!!
