If you can get the VIN, you can tell exactly what year it is by the 10th digit. G is 86, H is 87.

Nice find though. I wish I could track down a decent looking first gen up this way...I missed out on an 87 on CL a few months back. Sad

Guys, its an 87, very desireable shell with the cowl hood and if its recessed, factory sunroof. The 87 has the plastic slap on multi-color emblems on the GFXs. The 86s have the recessed emblems. My blue 87 has 86 style emblems. Where is it? I have a parking spot out back for it if its not rusting away.....Buy it if is not rusted. Or put me contact and I may buy it if the body is as good as the pics look.

Honestly, someone needs to grab that car (and its title). If no one is interested or has the funds, let me know, I will save it...

If Dustin doesn't save it, I will. I'd sell my Ph1 to make room for a good clean 1st gen in a heartbeat.

If you know the owner, talk with them. Does it run/drive? If it doesn't run but the body is clean, I'd offer them a few hundred bucks for it and see if they bite. Just make sure to look over the firewall and the floorboards for rot.

HELL YEAH man GRAB IT UP!!!!!
99.7% sure it's an '87.
May have been painted at some point(the multi-colored gfx is missing)
Major knows--the '87 Z24 emblems were not recessed.
The granny-rack is kinda throwing me off--I know the OE spoiler was optional. The auto was optional as well.
The engine will be the tell-tale sign weather it is a '86 or '87 by the first or second gen 2.8L engine

That's a pretty dark tint. Check the interior. Check floorboards, trunk for soft spots due to rust-through,water damage, ect.
Do you know if she runs?
Power windows?/locks?

Take your time lookin her over but I'd go ahead and take it for sure!

--Let us know!--

My first 87 Z had the granny rack. I kinda like it and wish my current 87 had one....and a chin spoiler!

Looks like a nice car. The blue always looked good on those boxes. Snatch it up!
