I've been reading about the $50 paint job on here and some other sites. I've decided that I'm going to do it to my daily driver and save my good paint for my other Z. I have one question about it though. Could you perhaps spray the paint on with an electric sprayer? It wasn't mentioned in the how-to so I figure not but thought I would ask anyways. Thanks!

I've never done either of these personally But I have had some decent shine ups using just rattle can spray paint. Just spray it colorsand it and buff it. Didn't test durability and I only spot tested it so no idea about massive area coverage. But I think with the right techniqe anything is possible anymore with paint. I've always found a way to make anything I try work eventually.

^^^Only if you want the paint to peel off after a week lol!! First Clean the area to be painted with a wax and grease remover, then you have a few choices of sandpaper that you can use rangeing from 400-800 grit. 1200 is extremely way to fine for paint to get proper adhesion. 1000- 1500 grit is great for wet sanding between coats of clear, and 1500-3000 is good for getting imperfections out of the clear before buffing.

Excellent. Thanks guys. I haven't quite figured out what I'm going to do. It might be just as cheap for me after everything to just spray it with a one stage. But I'd still like to try it to see how well it would turn out. I just didn't know if an interior/exterior paint sprayer made for that type of paint would spray it half smooth but I guess thats what experiments are for.

I believe jbodyconnection was commenting on that I should use 1200 grit for wetsanding between coats also. The car will be prepped properly before painting. Thanks again.
