Does no one want to listen to me on this?
The axle hanger bracket needs to be shortened to align the axle properly. I don't recall exactly how much but the bolt bosses on the 3500 stick out farther from the block than the genI/II/3100/3400.

you can see how much i had to adjust the aluminium bracket for my beretta jackshaft tube in this pic...
IMO this is the best option for us 3500 swappers. the stock bracket caused a misalignment that severely damaged the diff in my tranny.

The problem is simple.. You're obviously using the left handed bracket on the right handed axle.....Turn it upside down and backwards and it should solve your issues.

scott. its not aligned. so its tweaked at the tranny end. thus resulting in a leak!
six. i have not heard of this problem before. apparently i need to read more! anyway to find a measurment? perhaps it would be easier to shorten the bosses?
mars. no comment
david.. whats that off , year wise? thats what i wanted when my stocker broke? that gave proper alignment!?

I don't recall the difference. I can set up one of my mount jigs that was going to be used to fab S-series 31/3400 and 3500 mounts, and measure off that. It will take me a bit to get to that.
I haven't uncovered my 3500 in months, been too busy with life in general.
If I get the time in the next couple days I'll see what I can figure out.

Haha, no one told me the bosses were different.
I love my 3400.

88 or 89 Beretta GT jackshaft. Make sure to get the housing, shaft, block bracket and all the bolts. I got mine for $50 shipped. from a yard listed on car-part.com
It bolts to the tranny so yah, it keeps propper alignment. IIRC i also pulled out the passenger side seal because the jackshaft housing had an Oring seal on it.
after you get the housing bolted on the tranny then you can bolt the aluminium bracket to the block and oval the holes till they line up with the housing. 91 and older bellhousings are drilled/tapped for the housing, 92's were drilled and iirc 93/94's weren't at all.

YOU CANNOT JUST SLOT HOLES!
Ive done this, and to do it with a normal intermediate shaft is very challenging. It takes precision measurements and modification of the studs on the block.
IIRC, the bosses on the block need to be taken down ~.262". I think that was the number, But im not 100%, so do your own research.
Then the holes need to be moved up a little bit. I dont remember the value.
I may have a pic of the jig that I set up to compare 3100 bosses to the 3500 bosses and make my calculations.
This is the most crucial part of the 3500 swap. It only took me like 2 hours, including fabbing my own bracket.

you CAN slot the holes (if you use the beretta jackshaft)
I actually have both blocks sitting in the garage, maybe i'll measure them this weekend.
I remember back when i did my 3400 swap that the rear mount bracket and jackshaft bracket didn't fit perfect then either.. but were much closer than they are with the 3500.
