Hey guys, they have discontinued the clutch for the 2.0 turbo ive found out, so i did some research with my buddy that works in the parts buisness, and it seems a N/A clutch for the 2.0 isuzu tranz would work for the getrag, spline count, input shaft dia., clutch width, bolt pattern, ect.

So, im assuming the only difference is the pressure plate clamping force. If anyone can verify that, id appriciated that.

But my question is, has anyone used that clutch for the turbo 2,0?

Im on a budget for this engine and trans swap and dont want to get a really expensive aftermarket one.

Is there any other clutches availiable thats priced the same as like a LUK clutch kit for the n/a

ID hate to get it in and hot rod around and burn it up because its not meant to be behind a turbo 2.0

Thanks!

Advance Auto shows 2 current part numbers for the 2.0 turbo clutch. My wife tells me they're showing a Beck Arnley part no. 0616174 in one of the warehouses. Otherwise, I'd look into buying a clutch from Sachs. They're a major world clutch manufacturer and you can pick and choose your clutch components.

oh, i tried oriellys, our trans. suppliers from work, the luk company, and all of them said it was discontinued.

Advanced was the only place we didnt ahve in this town, but if its like orielly's it says its special order, but when they request it they say its actually been discontinued untill further notice. so i dunno, i may call an advanced in a nearby town and see if they can get one or not...

Actually now that i think about it, since you say 2 part numbers, that may be for the friction disc, and the release bearing, because orielly's could get those, its the pressure plate is whats discontinued.... And thats burnt up on the one i got from the donor engine.

well this is what i get with your part number from rockauto, i dunno if its the n/a clutch or turbo clutch is the only problem..

http://www.rockauto.com/dbphp/prt,31,0616174

and if that is infact the turbo one, that would be AWSOME because they have a wholesale closeout on that part with 17 available, with the price of 80 bucks!

Thats the part # slow gave so more then liekly it is, If they dont have any of them whenyou go to get them. You can always look into Zoom. They seem to work really well with the I4.

That's the turbo car clutch. The biggest drawback to the 2.0 OHC in respect to the clutch is that it takes an 8.5" clutch disc instead of the 9" or 9 1/8" disc used in the OHV / V6 and quad4 cars. Some of the European versions of this engine including the X20XEV 16V use a 9" clutch but almost all of them have a 24 spline input shaft vs the 14t input shaft used here in the US.

As I thought about this last night I began to wonder if the Getrag trans, which was designed by ZF, was ever sold to Euro car makers with a 24T input shaft. Changing the input would allow more flexibility for clutches for everyone, not just OHC Sunbird owners.
