| should be ok. in addition to it being in contact with a nice size piece of metal with a large surface area, the amp has a thermal overload protection circuit on it, so it would shut off before any damaged is caused if it does actually get too hot... it's been fine so far |

This shut off will happen very frequently, Thats how I had my amp placed...and on hot days, or regular long days of driving the amp will shut off, it tends to get very annoying. My advice is toss it on the rear seat, or on the side of the trunk. I've been there done that, I learnt quickly after I was bothered with the constant turning off. _________________

My lower power kenwood amps never got hot. Pushing 1 10" shallow driver isn't much of a workout! If you have trouble with it cutting out, put it somewhere else. _________________

wheres the fibreglassing pics?? lol did u use the cardboard mockup as a mold??
i to have a comment about the location of ur amp lol if u really want it up there it would probably be better to bend up a couple metal brackets and hang it from the rear deck that way the amp is atleast the right side up and u get alittle bit of breathing room... most companies say dont mount there amps upside down due to overheating issues
i know u said it works fine.... was jsut a suggestion
to the person saying its only pushing a shallow mount sub... does it really matter whats its pushing? it could be pushing 4 subs or 1, its still using the same amount of power...... the amp doesnt know how many subs its pushing lol _________________

there aren't any fiberglassing pics lol... didn't take any... ya i did just use the posterboard as the mould.
the amp made it through an entire hot summer with a couple of road trips with a packed trunk and not once did it overheat... should be fine by the looks of it |
