Hey guys I need to know what to use to get leaf stains off of a car. My z24 hood was stored outside under a shelter but leaves piled up on the bottom part of the hood and left stains on it, and I have tried just washing it and that does not work.

Thanks,
brian

any special wax needed? My car detailing skills are minimal. Ive only hand waxed mine and my parents cars. I do have a buffer though its a good one not those walmart kinds. but Ive never used it on anything.

you could just hand rub it with some compound and a soft clean rag.

Before you do anything you want to wash and clay bar the car. This will keep you from swirling dirt into the paint with the buffer. Then get a good rubbing compound and apply with the buffer VERY CAREFULLY to the stained area. After that, lay on a nice coat of wax and your all set.

Be careful with the buffer as you can burn right through paint. I always use a paint depth gauge when buffing and paint correcting just to make sure im not close to damaging the finish.

A paint depth gauge tells you how much paint is on the car in any given spot. http://www.coating-thickness.com/111/AW_coating_thickness_gauge_var1

yeah, that looks like a novelty item more than anyting to me. I am sure it has its uses, but isn't it giving you total thickness of the paint, not the thickness of the clear. That is more what we would be concerned about I would think.
