hey guys.
i searched this and theres not much about it.
i was reading through the flip flop how to and its a little confusing. i was wondering if any of u guys did it and how hard it was. does it take long to do. i really wanna do this. it looks insane. is it worth doing. i know that u have to put on the new hinge but other than that ......
i heard from some ppl that u have to change the bolts everytime to close it. is that true????
some help would be greately appreciated.
thank you. |

I was just wondering something about the flip flop trunk.. I have seen it done and all and it looks good, but one thing I was noticing is that a lot of people have to use like a board or something to keep the trunk lid level. can you put a spring on it or somehting to keep it level or don't you think that it will work? Let me know what ya think _________________

hey
ya i just did my trunk flip flop. when its open i doesn't stay lever. u can use a piece of wood but i am going to put a spring on it to make it open and close and stay lever much easier. the spring im thinking about goes from the back of the trunk to the inside of the trunk. |

| I did it and now when i close the trunk the part by the window wants to pop up. I tried 3 kinds of hinges and no luck, I have to put 2 of my factory screws back in to keep it right. it was a waste of time. |

I do not have a digi camera but We are going to some shows this weekend so i'll have a guy in my club shoot some. I personally think it looks good from the side or front. but from the rear it looks gay. No taillights on the trunk lid i think is what throws it off for a sedan. But hey to each his own. Personally I do not think it was worth the time and effort to do on a sedan. It looks better on the Z's

| Hey, do you think instead of using a spring on the lid, would it work to use little hydrolic arms from like a 1985 camaro trunk lid? It might work! |

Check out the pics of mine in my registry. I used 2 L brackets on each side, and some pins to hold the trunk tight to the arms so it would open and close without a hassle, but when I want the flip flop effect, I just take the pins out, a voila. _________________
