I thought that maybe we could add PCV Valve. I know it's tricky to find and since I went there yesterday I thought that I'd take some pics.

Moon, feel free to use them if you like.

our cars dont have a maf, we do have a map sensor on the firewall, towards the middle more on the passenger side.

Nice to see people not answer the question....

MAF : Mass AirFlow sensor, between the air filter and throttle body
MAP : Manifold Absolute Pressure, on the firewall

And YES, some j-bodies did have MAF sensors, the 1987 Z24 had it.

Someone should make a How-to for changing the PCV valve on a Z24. Holy crap!

There must be an easier way to get to it, I unplugged it after a half hour of fighting with it and could not unplug the hose from it from a lack of s$pace to operate and ZERO leverage no matter how I tried to get my hands in there. I could only fit my left one and i am not lefty so i plugged the valve back in and swore at it.

I should explain, I am 6ft 4 inches and have huge hands, i can't even buy regular gloves because even the XL gloves are too small. I can palm a basketball ... changing a PCV valve is impossible!

You have wiring from the EGR there, a black cable going to the O2 sensor, a metal knife edge that cuts yours palm open, a very short hose tube to unplug and you just can't.

Grrrr I got so damned mad at it. Why does changing a $3 part have to be so disgustingly painful?

If there is an easy way to get it by removing something I would like to know the process of doing that. Is removing the Plenum an easy task or would i need a new gasket?

Cripes i just want to change a part that is recommended to be changed every 20,000 miles. it should be easy to get to like my 4 cyclinder 90 Cav wagon was. That was right in plain site on the front valve cover with nothing in the way.

As it is right now i will wait until i have other work done by a mechanic and ask him to change it in the process.

I quit lol.

Update to my post above ... finally changed the PCV and did it while the plenum was removed for a cleaning so there is my answer.

I cannot be done unless to plenum is off which is annoying honestly, my 90 Cav wagon had it right in front of your face with nothing in the way.
