can anyone tell me what im looking at to buy just the engine, and is there alot of cable changes? im very rookie to this, but i want to keep this car forever and make it as nice as i can get it. i'm looking to spend about 6 grand with the engine. thats engine, install, and w/e else is needed. lemme know pls.

I paid $800 for a $3400 from a 2000 GAGT 80 000 km had to hunt around a bit that was the cheapest i could find down here in New Brunswick!

What's a 3600? :-?
Lets see:
3100s (I had a few)
$free.99 (had a burnt valve), $250 (back when the 3400 was upwards of $1500, and VERY new), I think I had another one for like $50.
3400s
$100 (It was actually a 2.2L V4, since it was missing a rod in one hole and a piston in another, this was also back when 3400s were in the $1500 area), $200 (was complete), $100 (complete again, from a burned vehicle, ran fine though), $700 (complete w/ waranty)
3500s
$300 + a mount (came from an accident vehicle, that had a broken front cover, water pump was completly broken away, along with a couple tubes for coolant all bent up.)
As you can see there is quite the range to these engines, depending on milage, and where they come from.
The 3500 swap is more involved than the 3400 and requires more custom parts, all of which I will have available soon for purchase. The front mount is basically ready, my laser cutter just seems to have a lot on the go right now. :-? I will be working on other swap parts once I start my new job on Oct 1st.

I paid $450 for my 3400 with 80k on it.. Drove it around the jy before it was pulled then brought it home and rebuilt it so it would be all new..

I'm aware of a 3500 DOHC, and 3900 DOHC, I haven't seen a 3600 DOHC or OHV.easye said:

i got my 3400 w/ 90k miles on it about a month ago for $350. had a window in the side(more like in one end of) of the oil pan, but i just tossed a new one on it(they gave me a replacement, too) and it fired right up and ran/runs great

I'll have to check it out, I've been looking for a 3400 for about 5-6 months now. I'm kinda afraid to find one because I have no means of transporting it or installing it at the moment.
