Do you have a radiator shop in your area? If so, they may be able to build up something that can replace your old piece. A machine shop may be able to do it too.
Yes, you can convert it to 89-94. You'll have to swap out the original recovery tank for the pressurized one. There may be more to that, than it sounds. The 88 HVAC lines might not clear the tank. I'm pretty sure they run differently. Anyway, it is do-able.
