Acura Integra

So this guy I know (sort of a freind sorta not) says his 1.5 4cyl Manual Acrua integra could beat my 3.1 6cyl Automatic 1990 cavalier.... My car is all stock( minus the K&N but big whoop) and his car only has headers.... He was running his mouth about when that V-Tak kicks in and all that crap. Now I dont like to race on public roads its dangerous and tickets are huge and there are no tracks near. I just told him I would kill his car. So that being said was I right, would a stock 3.1 Cavy beat an acura integra with headers? opinions?

Is it GSR or RS ( the integra)... Ill use this as comparison I kill a 93 GSR Integra.. im stick, its stick

then you must be a good driver or your friend SUCKS A LOT. an integra 160 HP gs-r is WAY more power full then a 125 HP Cavalier (2.8).

a base cavalier with a 3.1 is about the same as a base integra. (and I would give the edge to the integra because of the better breathing engine)

Now if you tell me you got gen 3 stuff its another story.

cuz hp is everything, im sure the torque of a gen2 motor would get you off the line alot faster then the teg, but later on down it will probly pull on you.

Horsepower is a mesure of how long you can use your torque. thats why a Gs-r is a low 15 sec car and the cavalier is a low 16 sec. Torque is good as long as you can Use it. Less wheelsping in the GS-R then in the 3.1 cavalier = as fast off the line.
It all depends on the year of the integra too. Because there were several different models of the integra. one that only had 130hp but had like 120tq. So that one, a 3.1 should beat that no problem. Does he actually HAVE the VTEC? If so, then he has the 1.7L GS-R version and he'd beat you. But if not, then you'll have him no problem. :wink: I know my integras pretty well :lol: find out what year his is and let me know and I'll tell ya for sure.
A 1990 or later 5 Speed Integra no matter what trim level will always beat a stock 3.1 Auto Cav.. The 3 speed Auto in the cav kills performance.

Yea really, Vtec actually means not horribly slow when engaged
My ex girlfriend had a 1992 or so, it was an LS auto. That thing was just a hair slower than my 3.1 auto. A 5-speed would indeed in my eyes be faster. But to be honest i didn't like driving that car. Maybe because i was used to my shitty Cavalier.
my best friend has a gs...and my 3.1 auto with just intake and exaust no nitrous at the time beat him 5 times in a row....his is a 2000 and a 5 speed with intake and exaust as well

1.5? that would be a single cam motor....if its a 1.8 its a gs an rs or an ls if its 1.7 then its a gsr and would eat you up. depending on the year it might be a 1.8 gsr which a buddy of mine has and i get him off the line ti he's about half way through second.
my old 3.1 cav beat a special edition integra. auto with cai/header/fart can. i fuckin launched the fuck out of my car and i was gone. i have a feeling after 80ish he would start reeling me in though

There both slow i would not worry about it. FYI its a 1.8 not a 1.5

lol mah bad..

It's really hard to class these cars as slow or quick.. on one hand they own on light to light skirmishes but yeah they suck after about 100K... trust me I have driven much slower cars.. I think its the torque that makes me love this car so much.
slow is my old 91 celica gts 130hp heavy as hell lol. It was auto too. LOL The car looked so cool but it was slow. I would WOT the could would not tires would not make a sound or even break loose
