I drove 2 hours yesterday to look at the only 5 speed Z I found in the area the entire summer. It was a 94, same color as mine, and I already had a down payment on it for them to hold it until I could make it over to check it out.

It was completely stock with 98000 on the clock. Interior was near perfect. It drove really nice, chirped into 2nd and almost in 3rd no problem. But there was just way too much rust, dings and scratches on it. It was really rusty above the door molding, which is common, but it was worse than most I have seen. Plus it was rusting at the bottom of the door, and on the hinges and a few other small spots on the body.

The dealership wouldn't go any lower than the $2800 I had got them down to over the phone (originally asking $3500, but they would have had to go quite a bit lower than $2800), so I told them there was just too much rust for what they were asking. They already had it sold to a wholesaler, so they were doing me a favor in holding it for me. I REALLY wanted that car, it was so hard to walk away from it. So now my search begins all over again... If anybody finds a 91-94 5 speed Z for sale in or around Iowa, Please let me know! :)

sorry to hear that moon, 5spd z's are great. but 2800$ for a rusty z24 is too much, even if its got little mileage.

btw why a phase 2?

that sucks, but keep their number around, and in a few months. when business is slow, call them up see if they still have it and maybe you can get them to go down. i have still yet to see a phase 1 5spd. which i'm not worried about n e more since the lude is 5 spd. i'd rather have a automatic for my drag project.

that really sucks man, got my 94 z 3.1 5spd for 1 grand, i know im a lucky shit, had 112k miles too. So im not complaining, i live in maryland, im the second owner as well!

i have a phase1 5spd id probly be selling if i can ever get it running

Moon for a small fee I could drive my 92 down to IA and sell it to you :wink: :D

But then you could always go the other route and MAKE yours a standard :D

Because I would rather not get anything older than what I already have. And I don't really like the dash on the Phase I's.

That is the main reason. And mine has hail damage...twice.

2800 for rust bucket... i feel better and better for paying 900 for mine. lol. 5 speed.. was green... very very little rust... gone now....perfect inside. I'm thinking about selling it too.... not sure though

Wow is there that many americans that cant drive a standard cause up here theres TONNES of 5 speeds :-? :eek: :-?

OH HELLS NO!!. sorry Steve, but Jason, trust me, you don't want that one, it has a BAD history.
Dont worry man I wouldnt sell him the 92...what you think I dont have spare parts cars lying around :roll: :roll: :D

That sucks moon, hope you find what your looking for. I'd offer to sell you mine for like $2000, but its not the year(s) your looking for.
