The answer to the second question is no, you can also use a BOV on a roots type blower, but it is usually built into the manifold or charger itself, and there's also very little need most of the time with a roots type for a BOV, other than if the vehcile is a daily driver. Also used with a roots type it serves a different purpose, which is to recirculate (wchich can also be done with a BOV on a turbo or centrifigal SC), and is generally refered to as a bypass valve, since it's not common for it to be open to the atmoshere, in this case.

you know you like the sound of a BOV too. :D i know i do. however i don't "nut" over one if i hear it.
