does anyone here have a j with dual cooling fans or a cooling fan with two speeds?

i will proboly have dual fans this winter :p
okay well whatever you are doing do it twice and give me the other one.
why would you want two fans ?? the odd time that the car can't keep itself cool just from the air flowing through the rad, and the fan does turn on... it can cool it down to your thermostat temp in no more than a minute of two no matter how hot it is... I mean.. unless my fan moves unreal amouts of air, there is no way I could ask for more fan power...

ooo i have reasons you dont know about :wink:
i have 2 fans set up, nd i got them on my cooling fan switch, its incredible the amounts of air they push no lie. Ask 91BerettaGT if i drive for like an hour then keep the fans on in less then 10 mins the intake is ice cold the plenium is cold the whole front of the engine cools down. only bad part is i lose power if i keep them on and race, so when it comes time i flick the switch off :-D i drive with them on non stop the temp guage never gets to 1/4 only like 2 light bars will light up nothing more. My set up is..........

FAN --> |RADIATOR| FAN -->
I'll back up 88cavalierz24... my oh my is that setup pretty nice, If it didn't draw that much power then it'd be sweeter.

Mix it with the Fan override and you have a really cold engine,

Be careful; because for instance if i were to leave my single fan running for 20 minutes, i'd need a jumpstart after, With both fans running after 10 minutes you should start the car and let the battery charge that way you don't have any battery/stuck in the parking lot problems...

Joe's second fan (88CavalierZ24) is wiretied to someplace on the chassis of the engine bay... also he does not have an A/C Condensor so those may be additional things to consider

umm...no, sorry buddy. you are wrong. and i have proof, its in my garage right now.
wrong about what? I'm just saying that the stock fan, at least mine anyway, moves one hell of a lot of air, and that a second fan is unecessary because the 1 cools off my car to thermostat temp in minutes.

Your rad must suck or something... Mine is 2 core... perhaps you guys ought to consider getting better radiators rather than more fans to blow through them. A rad can only transfer so much heat at a given temperature.. doesn't matter how much air you blow through it.

Why strain your alternator, and steal HP when you can get better cooling from another 2 pounds of stationary metal ?

:roll:

Oh, and perhaps you might want to leave your car running when you want to cool it down. The cooling of the water in your radiator doesn't make one hell of a damn difference if the temperature of your engine and the water in it aren't decreasing as well. With the car off, the water is not circulating because your water pump is not running. Once its cooled to thermostat temp then you should shut it off..
