Check all of your speaker wiring and see if there are any grounded wires anywhere from the deck to the speaker locations.
Deck plays nothing but sub does?
Hey everyone.
My deck was playing fine yesterday, then all of a sudden all the speakers stopped and the amp powering the sub and the sub were the only things working. The deck still showed the song and everything, so I got mad. I used the decks sub mute feature and then nothing was playing. So Im thinking of course, somethings wrong with the deck. Fuse is fine, everythings plugged in fine, can anyone help? This setup has been working fine for about 2 months now

nah its a really straightforeward install, speaker wire to speakers and nothign else :S
What kind of Deck is it? I know my eXcelon has an internal amp mute feature if you want to run everything off external amps. Perhaps your deck has something similar?gord said:Hey everyone.

its a pansonic DH88, I dont think it has anything like that, it just starts crackling and then all the sound just moved to the trunk :S
i had the exact same problem with mine... it was just a crappy connection... if i turned too sharp it would do that... if i turned sharp enough in the other direction, it would come back on... just check your connectionsgord said:Hey everyone.

What I mean by that is you need to trace your wires from the deck connection to the speakers connection and see if there is any part of the speaker wire or the speaker grouding out any place. wemet - how far back were the poorly connected wires? Theres a big bundle that has all the speaker wire coming out of it but thats connected just fine?
4uhataz - if there was a ground wire like that, wouldnt it just turn off one speaker? Like, all four interior speakers arent working. Would a bad ground cause that still?

Hey everyone thanks for all the quick responses! 4uhataz, it turns out that one of the rear interior speakers had a wire that was touching the metal on the trunk brace thing, so thats what it was. Thanks everyone again!
