I'm taking my car in to the muffler shop monday to get some new exhaust, my old intermediate pipe had a hole in it. (so I ripped it all off and drove with open headers the past couple days hehehe) now my question is...should I replace it with the normal 2.25" pipe, or should I get a bigger one made, like 2.5" or 3"? Ive heard that bigger pipes actually rob the car of low end power, is this true? I need to get my facts straight before I spend my money.

how did you manage to run open headers with out gettin pulled over?? :nono:
I dunno I just got lucky :p

And about the mandrel bent piping, there aren't any shops in the area that have a mandrel bender, I've already checked. and I don't really have the time to order one and wait for it. I need to get my car back to normal before I DO get pulled over.

The general Hot Rod rule is to use pipes 1/4" bigger than stock for the most H.P and torque out of your modified engine. Using a stock size downpipe, and having 2 1/4" pipe cat back does make sense. High preasure moving into low preasure = better air flow = more power.

Does this statement make any sence? Kinda redundant if you ask me
