Fall Foliage Tour in Hudson Valley Area

Well I was thinking of having a fall foliage tour in the Hudson Valley specifically in bear mountain/ Harrieman state park. That area is really pretty when the leave change color and stuff. The dates I was planing on were in October 12 or if it rains the 19th. I think it would be cool to have a B-B-Que or something or maybe eat out some place up there.

I have not set anything in stone so dates are open and I would like to know long of a drive people would like it to be; 1hr 2hrs what ever. If anyone has any better suggestions that would be cool as well.

Just to give you guys an area off of 17 and the NY thru-way it is near central Valley or the Woodbury commons.

hey man ill show up, just let me know what day and time.
how long would you guys like the run to be?

The day would be the 12th of October, the rain date is the 19th. Well I was thinking about 11:30 or so meeting up, at 12 start. does this sound cool?
yeah, sounds decent to me.
sounds good to me, hopefully my Z will be running good then
Ok this is what I am planning on doing I have a rout planed out. It should take about 1 1/2hrs to 2 in Bear Mountain/ Harriman State Park.

The meeting place will be in Central Valley at the Monroe Woodbury Elementary school right across the street from the Woodbury Commons.(the town zip is 10917) it is right off of 17 and the New York thruway.

Now we will be meeting up at 11:30/12 so I was wounding if you guys want to get food before the trip, because this area has alot of choices for restaurants, or we can get food after the tour as well.

So Soup and Al you'll be able to come? Will chickie be coming as well?
im there man, just keep me informed about the dates and times

your only about 30 minutes from christines house, i dont know if she will bringing her car or not but we both will be there!!
were still gunna meet up right?? anyone got directions how to get to the school from 87 or 17?
yeah, whats the addy of the meeting place?
yeap we will meet up I am doing the drive on Sunday to make sure it is all good.

as far as the meeting place from the NY thru-way. Get off at exit 16 that should be the Harrieman exit. That exit will take you to a toll plaza ($0.50) then after the toll the first exit 131 Central Valley. By that point you should see the schools (There are 3. 2 on top of a hill 1 at the bottom) we will be meeting at the one at the bottom. At the traffic light make a right. By the 2nd light get in the far left lane and turn in the the school I should be there waiting :D

If you have another Q's just let me know. and I will be more then happy to help you out :D
well I just got back driving the rout, it is about 50miles nice sensory. kick ass roads :D till I got behind slower people. I think it will be a fun time. I am looking forward to next Sunday; the weather says 65 with some sun (hopeful stays that way). Soup did you find directions?
well, doesnt look like ill be able to make it, i have to find out what the hell is going on with the car!! is doing some funky stuff
if no one else minds, would you like to try for a later date? like another week or 2? Of course that is if no one else minds.
