Ok I think I found what I was looking for as far as a stand alone ECM unit. The only problem I have is I have no idea what the stock ECM connector pinouts are. I have a 16198262 ECM can any one help me out with a site that will show me this Thanks

The E6GM uses a 2 connector style harness, like late '80s early '90s full size pick-ups, Camaros, or if you want a specific ECM number, like the 747.
Then that is just like mine in my cavalier right

No, the second gens use a 3 connector ECM, you have 2 options, change your connectors by cutting and hard wiring, or make an adaptor harness out of old ECM conectors and the corisponding plugs for the E6GM, I'm actually making something similar for my truck, to test different ideas and theories.
Im getting frustrated $2700 from fast, Haltech $1700, SDS says no good,I just E-mailed Moetek to see what they say. Im ready to put a small block in with points & plugs. Why dont any one make stuff for our cars. Headers custom built $1800. Extrude hone manifold $400, Super charger$5000. All this to try to go 11s. Over $22,000 for a 14.3 second car. I see another 10,000 coming. Im going to go have a drink. The only thing that aint new is the axles on the car. :(

I could get you into the 13's just with some more attention to the tranny.. you should look up some of the posts as to what can be done to get some juice outta the tranny.. if not pm and I'll excplain it all for yeah..
PMV, I know it can be frustrating, but from what I've seen for capabilities to cost, the E6GM looks like a good unit, making the adaptor is not hard, just takes some time.

No matter who you talk to, an aftermarket ECM will NOT be a plug 'n' play deal, from anyone for out cars, there just sin't enough demand for it.
I found a site called tunercat.com.they have a system where you can adapt your ecm to real time and set the perimeters up and adjust the stock ecm and re write the prom.Dave from Engine Managemet told me about the site. He told me this setup has better perimiters than an aftermarket unit. I'm not all famaliar with ecm programing but for under $400 Im going to learn. :D
PMV;, if you want to wait maybe a couple of months and spend less there is something new coming out that is going to be a better option, on the fly programming, use of any tuning program that you want, no need for a bettery back-up system. The tuner cat emulator, which in teh end will cost you nearer $1000 to get everything needed, is only suposed to be used for a short time, and a chip burned, once tuning is complete. The PROMinator can be left in teh ECM for an undetermined amount if time, PM me for details.
