looks good, but it would be better to get exhaust heat wrap and wrap the crossover instead

the 3400 comes with heat shields on all the manifolds, they could prolly be modified to fit the 3.1 manis (except the rear)

Ya he is right. so what i did was droped it down from that point.

Beleive it or not it works really good. Took it for a test drive and there was a difference.

might as well make a duct and have all the rad fan heat go directly into the filter

Well if u notice thats why the shield is on that side of the filter. plus it wraps around half of it. so the air from the cowl hood and the air comming in at 50 to 80 mph through the front is mostly cool air.

the gen2 crossover is packed with fiberglass :wink:

here is the heat shield i built.... that air filter stays atleast 20 degrees cooler than the rear one. After a long drive you can barrely touch the rear one but the front one is fine. It's only open at the top and front where the filter goes through. Any openings towards the front of the car will allow alot of heat to go in.
