Idiots should not be allowed to work at dealerships!!

I took my brother to the local GM dealership today to get some parts. It was an interesting experience to say the least. I had to end up correcting the guy twice (Its a sad day when I know more than the guy behind the counter  ) First problem; I asked for the price of a pcv vlave . He said they dont make pcv valves for the 2.2l. I had to explain to him that I replaced it when I first got the car. The next problem was the oil pump driveshaft. o ring. I asked for the part and he was like " Ive seen em on the back of 6 cylinders but never on a four cyclinder. Then I had to tell him that atleast on my 6 cylinder it was oon the front but on the 2.2l its on the back of the motor. The final straw was the vapor canister. I asked him for the filters . He tells me there arent any. I didnt even bother to tell him that I picked up a breather element for it before and that Advance Auto said they would have to order the other filter (the charcal I presume). Anyways he said I would have to order the entire canister as a unitto the tune of $74.73. Thats a pretty penny for some charcoal and a plastic can!
Sorry If this is too long or if Im ranting but I was just amazed at this guys level of expertise (or lack thereof!)

i hate when they just hire some joe shmoe to work the counter, but unfortunately a lot of places do that.
Breather filter and charcoal canister are two different things. Our charcoal canisters are sealed units and therefore you would have to buy the complete assembly. Also when the parts counterman is stubborn just have him show you the pictures on the monitor and then you can point out what you're looking for or if you wish you could always give me a call up here and i'll give you the proper part numbers
damn GM parts guys...dont know shit

hey man you have to drive to canada to get good results at a dealer, oh lets say like addison on bay or golden mile motors right luis :) ;)

Neither do Ford parts guys. Trust me, I worked at one, in the service department.

You just have to make sure that the guy at the counter has been there for years, knows his shit, and was working ther when your car was made.
