First of all, hi guys (and girls I guess), first time poster here.

Basicly, my stock paper 6x9 gave up about a month ago and I'm tired of the "SSHOOOOSHHHRRHHSHRHHHSHSHO..." I'm always hearing. However, I don't know alot about ICE, that's why I'm asking for your advice. I've being looking at these two models:

They are going to be used with an older Clarion DB125 head (specs can be found below).

Which one would be the best and could they be used w/o an amplifier with the said head unit ?

go with the pioneer. much better than sony. they should work fine without an amplifier unless you are doing a full on system. then you want to amplify everything
