For all who have done this, what injector clips did you use to hold the injector into the rail? I kinda got the mpfi injector clip on, but it didn't really hold all to well. I don't imagine the injector can really go anywhere, but I was just wondering if their was a a different clip.

I'm using stock injectors from a 90 3.1 mpfi, into a a 2001 injector rail.

Thanks

oh btw, new pics in no order linked here.

When I was using the ('95) 3100 injectors, I use the 3100 retaining clips, I have since switched to 19 lb/hr injectors from a Mustang and have no retaining clips, since the slot that the clip would have slid into is closer to the fuel rail connection, and would hev made sealing an iffy situation, I have had no leaks but I do reccomend using some sort of retention.

use the stock 3100 retaining clips Eric, theyre the only ones that will work for this the MPFI ones dont clip on the same spots and way as the 3100 rail does.

No worries about the receipt colin, whenever you get a chance.

The pushrods seemed good. Although my brother did most of the installation work, as I was the gopher who ran across town 4 times to the dealership for little things I forgot. He didn't realize they were custom until I told him, and he did infact comment on how good they looked when he was fitting them in.

I did notice the rockers were seized up from the shipment. I had them soaking in oil the last couple of days, and that seemed to do the trick. I'll take a brush to them, and clean up some of the surface rust that started on them. Thats weird if ya ask me. Such a short period of time, and they started to do that.

Now I have a couple of more questions about the injectors.

I know in all the stickies up top, it says to use the stock mpfi injectors, as the ecm will have a conflict with it. But what I'm not understanding is, how does the ecm see the different injector? If I used the stock injector wiring harness (modified to accept the different injector), couldn't I get away with that? I always thought the resistance was different, causing the ecm to puke. But I measured both sets of injectors today, and 12.4 ohm for each. Or is it more of a problem of to much fuel being sent when using the new injectors?

My second question is more of a maintenance thing, but i'll post it in here. Is there anyway to clean the injector while I have it out? I was thinking about putting some injector cleaner into the rail, and hookup my injector tester to pump it through each injector. Anyone else have a different suggestion?

Thanks
