hey everyone do i have to remove the trans to install a clutch in my 90 z24 my freind said just remove the well axle and i should be able to get to it without take it out any advice has anyone used a clutch from advance auto parts?

youre going to have to remove the transmission from the car yes... the clutch is inside the bellhousing of the transmission that is bolted to the engine block / flywheel... trans removal is a definite for a clutch job... as for the advance auto clutch, had one in my car with no problems, but i would recommend spending the extra 50 bucks and getting one from an auto parts place like bumper to bumper or somewhere that shops get parts from... just overall better quality and parts...
