Should I......

or should I this????

heh

my sunbird needs new doors and fenders to get rid of rust and scratches and dents etc, so I want to transplant the body from my Z24, since the floor is rotted out in her... anyway, if I change the fenders i have to change the bumper, which I like more anyway, but I like the GT side mouldings better.... would this look goofy or what? whats everyones opinion?

 ehhh...You should let a professional photoshop that for you. hehehe. And I like the GT moldings...
Yeah get those sides in there. It helps flow the front bumper to the rest of your car.

Thats kinda scary man. Oh well, at least you tried. I also like the GT pieces.

there is only one problem with both your options!!

in order to use the gt headlights youll need the entire front clip so you would need the sunbird front. other wise it wount fit right and it will look like ass!!

i know, i have the clip on my car. and unless you already have the front clip good luck finding one in good condition. sorry to burst your bubble.
yup, i agree with soup... the hideaway headlight assembly is a little too tall to accomidate the Z24 bumper (without modification to the bumper).

the easiest way to tell is to look at the cavalier: the lower edge of the corner lights will line up with the fender perfect. now on the GT: the hideaway headlights will not line up with the line on the fender. so basically you would need to trim the Z24 bumper to fit

I think u should do it though.... just take your sunbird GT and slap on the Z24 front, rear bumpers, and also the sideskirts. then maybe swap out the interiors or somethin
Number 2
if I were to do the first swap, id be changing the fenders and the bumper so that they will fit around the lights.. the gt has a slightly different fender the the base models and the cavaliers, which is why the gt bumper comes up a bit behind its lights, if I were to swap to the Z's fenders and bumper, itll fit ok..

ive got both cars already in my driveway, so I have all the parts....

Aghhemm. Yeah they came on SE's too, for the 90 model year at least.

Lol just messing around with you. I like the stock GT look, but if I had to pic one, I would probably go with #2. Well anyways, good luck either way.
later,

the fenders are the same! its the ehadlight assembly that is differant, the front bumper on the gt sits a little lower than either the stock or the cavalier bumpers because the headlights and clear corners are a little higher from top to bottom. the fenders themselves are exactly the same. so you wont need to change the fensers but you would need the front headlight assembly from the gt along with either a sunbird se or gt front bumper!
second one. put the z gfx on the bird.
hey stop sopying me dennis
you always do the same thing I am doing lol

we'll have twins bird
I am??

lol

so far I have the doors on and Im rewiring them for the sunbird wiring, Im relocating the door window motor switches to the sunbirds center consol, Ive decieded that I wont be doing a complete interior swap, just the carpet, trims and panels, steering wheel, rear deck, headliner etc... Ill pretty much be leaving the sunbird dash and center consol intact, Than Ill see what I can do about changing all that grey to black :)

soup, I did some measuring today, looks like the fenders between both cars are the exact same dimensions, the cavalier lights are about 1 inch thinner than the GT lights, so it looks like ill be keeping the sunbird front end ... therefore, I wont be putting the Z kit on the sunbird at all, i will still change the fenders tho, cause the Z ones arnt rusty.. :)

so this puts me at having a sunbird with fliplights, gt bumpers and skirts, a 50/50 interior, Z24 hood and trunklid and tailights , heh! what do you have done sunstealth ??
heh
:)

Z24 hood and trunklid and tailights ,
If thats the case what are you going to do about the reaera bumper? If you have the z24 trunk are you still gonna keep the sunbird bumper? If so what a re you going to do about haveing 2 license plate holders?
Im going to use the sunbird plate location, Im working on a filler panel for the cavy lid

:)
good luck, have you looked into just modding the taillights to make the conversion work? This way your just swapping out the lights if thats all you want
naw Im going to use the whole lid cause my current lid , the lock dosnt work and I filled it, it looks cool shaved but I want the convience of a lock again lol .. :) sucks when your battery is dead and cant get into the trunk
LOL
